In the last 24 hours, the Public Force also provided security and accompaniment to the logistics corridor to mobilize nearly 23,000 tons of cargo and more than 400 gallons of fuel.
The National Army, in a joint, coordinated and inter-institutional manner, carried out actions aimed at contributing to the tranquillity, free movement and economic reactivation of Valle del Cauca and in general of the southwest of the country, and with full observance of human rights.
Thus, with the support of the Police and the Mayors Office of Yumbo, between the night of Wednesday, June 2 and Thursday, June 3, the removal of debris that blocked the passage of vehicles in the Las Americas sector was carried out.
The amount of material and elements they had placed on the road was so great that it was necessary to use heavy machinery to clear the road, a key point for the transit of cargo vehicles from the industrial zone, as well as people who work or live in the sector. Authorities lifted more than 18 tons of debris, stones, dirt, railings and traffic signals, among others.
Similarly, in the last 24 hours, nearly 23,000 tons of food, basic necessities and medicines, as well as more than 400,000 gallons of fuel, were transported to and from Valle del Cauca. All this was mobilized in 1112 cargo vehicles
To highlight is the movement of 444 of these vehicles, which were circulating between Cali and the Eje Cafetero, carrying more than 9000 tons of cargo required with priority, since they were elements for the consumption of citizens and commercial activities.
As for urban work in the Port of Buenaventura, the Public Force guaranteed security for the entry and exit of more than 1300 vehicles with cargo, which go to and from the different port terminals.
All these actions contribute significantly to the regions progress, as transit, transport and mobility have been improved, as well as the economic revival of the southwestern region of Colombia and, in general, of the country.
