At the 9th Instruction, Training, and Retraining Battalion of the 9th Brigade, training goes beyond the physical and tactical. More than 500 service members participated in a workshop focused on strengthening their emotional well-being and preventing risks that could affect their performance and quality of life.
The activity was designed to develop key psychosocial skills for coping with highly demanding situations, addressing topics such as emotion management, conflict resolution, and the early identification of risk signals associated with suicidal ideation and the use of psychoactive substances.
During the workshop, practical tools for decision-making, assertive communication, and strengthening support networks were also promoted, highlighting the importance of healthy lifestyle habits as the foundation for personal and professional stability.
In total, 15 officers, 34 non-commissioned officers, and 529 SL (soldiers) 18 benefited from this initiative, which was supported by the Mayor’s Office of La Plata, Huila, reaffirming the National Army’s commitment to the mental health of its men and women.
These types of programs reinforce comprehensive training, where emotional well-being is recognized as an essential component for mission success and the protection of life.
